I spent the majority of the first part of my career working for the Shell Oil Company in the UK, Europe and North America across Customer Experience. I always led teams, and as my teams became larger and more complex, I noticed that the people aspect of my work was what really interested me: working out how to ensure I had the right people in my teams, how to motivate and support them and importantly how to get out of the way and let them get on with their work (in other words delegation). With hindsight, I can say now that I was working out how to coach my teams rather than just telling them what to do. It seemed to fit with my values as a human being, and to produce some extraordinary results.

Curious what more was possible, I decided to pursue a formal programme in coaching and discovered the Co-Active Training Institute - one of the most prestigious coaching schools in the world. There I found a philosophy that I was drawn to both as a human being, but also as a way of working. I soon decided to study everything they had to offer - an intensive coaching programme followed by a highly challenging leadership programme and in 2021 I joined the coach training faculty at Co-Active.

 

During this career change, I also was experimenting with location, and in 2018 decided to put roots down in Malaysia and established my coaching and consulting business here in 2019. I work today with clients across the globe, and am particularly passionate about working in Asian markets and helping bridge the culture gap between east and west.
